A beautiful metamorphosis has occurred! What began four years ago with our premiere fundraising event has blossomed into a spectacular twilight gala—the Night of the Monarch featuring Stuart Weitzman Fashion Show, with jewelry by A.M. DePrisco Wellesley.
This majestic, black tie-optional gala will honor those who face ovarian cancer as well as those who have succumbed to the disease, and will include a special tribute to the founder of Ovations for the Cure of Ovarian Cancer, the late Patricia Franchi Flaherty. As the teal carpet is rolled out, VIP guests will enjoy an exclusive champagne reception beginning at 6:30pm. VIP guests will get to view the prize packages, games, and begin the silent auction as well. Premium and General Admission Guests can arrive at 7:30pm for the pre-show cocktail reception. where guests will be greeted by Harpist Mary Jane Rupert and have a chance to win $100,000 from a prize vault sponsored by Twinbrook Insurance. Doors open to the ballroom at 8:15pm, where guests will be seated to enjoy their decadent three-course meal; and kicking off the event was a performance by The Amalgamates, Tufts University's award-winning A Cappella group.
The evening, emceed by NECN's Beth Shelburne, included a special tribute to the late Patricia Franchi Flaherty, founder of Ovations for the Cure of Ovarian Cancer. Ovations gave out awards for innovations in ovarian cancer research, awareness and patient programs. Keynote speaker and loyal friend of Ovations Joyce Kulhawik said a few words. Following the tribute series was an exciting live auction emceed by Susan Wornick of WCVB showcasing luxurious packages to bid upon. On the heels of the auction was the Fourth Annual Stuart Weitzman Fashion Show, styled by celebrity stylist Gretta Monahan and Katie Faessler of The Rachael Ray Show and Tim Gunn's Guide to Style. Jewelry by A.M. DePrisco Wellesley was featured throughout the show as well. Following the show, we danced the night away with The White Heat Swing Orchestra.
