a cure for ovarian cancer on the holiday celebration tour
On the snowy evening of December 19, 2008, Ovations supporters had An Evening with Harry Connick, Jr. and His Big Band. Ovations secured more than 100 tickets at this intimate concert at the Colonial Theater in Boston, Mass., followed by a private meet-and-greet with Harry.
His concert, a three-night stop on his Holiday Celebration Tour, supporting his new holiday album, "Oh What a Night!" was an amazing show. With his Big Band, Harry performed a variety of his most-loved jazz numbers from previous albums as well. After the concert, there was a champagne reception, where Ovations guests were treated with a gift bag including an autographed copy of his new CD among other goodies. Paul Flaherty, President of Ovations for the Cure of Ovarian Cancer, who lost his wife Patty in August to ovarian cancer, introduced Harry to the group. Harry spoke about his personal ovarian cancer tragedy, having lost his own mother to the disease when he was only 13 years old. The evening ended with Harry posing for photos with the Ovations group.
